A
- every dancer is different
- some cannot be changed because of genetic makeup
- dancer must be aware and accept and understand their limitations to seek improvement and perform to their optimum

Psychological limitations:
A

- eg pirouettes require focus of the eyeline to spot
- focus as a general principle allows the dancer to apply appropriate energy and thought to performing the movement successfully and appropriately

How are focus and concentration linked?
A
- the ability to concentrate will keep the adrenaline flowing and allow optimum performance, being ready to react to anything
- the dancer must be continually aware of other factors such as space, timing and other dancers
- whether in class or performance they must be focused on the present
7
Q
Commitment:
A
- is a factor which often distinguishes a good dancer from an excellent one
- commitment encompasses focus and concentration in delivering a successful performance or in other words one that has conviction and confidence
- to become a great technician or an outstanding performer takes total commitment both in the studio and outside often at the expense of other things
- commitment reaps the reward of self-confidence and total control in performance
