Population surveillance for PL and what could be done to improve everyones progression and make appropriate programs.

“Physical activity professionals”
- Training required and multiple gender

Youth 8 – 12 and w/o disability

Physical competence: 30 points
- CAMSA
- PACER shuttle run.
- Plank
Daily behaviour:30 points
- Average daily step count pedometer (25)
- Self-reported number of days a week a child engages in mvpa(5)
Knowledge and understanding:
- Questionnaires
Motivation and confidence

What is the purpose of P4L?
An awareness assessment that test the motivation and the knowledge of pl by a teacher or in an educational state.
Who administers P4L?
Teaching tool so by teachers
Who is the P4L for?
Students grades 3 – 9. Or Grades K -12 w/o dissability
What does P4L asseses?
- Active participation
- Living skills
- Fitness skills
- Movements skills
How is P4L score?
Assessment FOR learning + 4- point rubric:
a. emerging
b. developing
c. acquired
d. accomplished
What is the purpose of PLAY?
To determine the level of an individual’s physical literacy
Who administers the PLAY tool?
Depends on tool:
six tools:
1. Play Basic: Need training.
2. Play fun : Need training.
3. Play coach: Need training.
4. Play parent
5. Play self.
6. Play inventory.
Who is the PLAY for?
- PrePLay tool 18 months to approx. 4-5 years
- Youth ages 7+ [PlayFun/Basic etc.]
- Adapted Play:Trained professional for children and youth disabilities 7+
What does PLAY asseses?
-Observed : Holistically
1. physical skills (assessing physical competence)

3. comprehension (assessing Knowledge and understanding)
How is PLAY score?
4-point rubric
-As a scale 0-100
-Initial and emerging = Developing 0-50
- Competent, proficient = acquired 50-100
