What is your goal if you’re doing fitness for health?

A

To maintain your health a minimum amount of exercise is needed to keep your body systems functioning at their best. This is known as the baseline of exercise or your minimum benchmark. Doing less exercise than this may lead to you having poor health.

What is your goal if you’re doing fitness for performance?

A

To be physically fit for performance in sport you must go above the baseline so you must do extra training. Ultimately you may want to get your body in the best shape possible to perform so you may want to achieve Peak Physical Fitness.

A

•determined by the ability of the respiratory and circulatory systems to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the working muscles and the ability of the working muscles to use the supply. So oxygen and energy supply meets the oxygen/ energy demand.

What is Anaerobic Energy Production?

A

Produced without oxygen

•determined by the ability of the muscles and liver to store fuel and the ability of the muscles to utilize this fuel

•anaerobic fitness is about being able to perform at very high intensities or maximum effort where the respiratory and circulatory systems cannot meet the demand for oxygen and nutrients quickly enough.

•Generally, the higher the intensity of the activity, the shorter the time that it can be maintained and anaerobic energy production becomes crucial. The lower the intensity of the physical activity the longer it can be maintained and aerobic energy production is more dominant.
