How does walster et al (1966) contradict the matching hypothesis?
A
Students expressed higher appreciation of their partner if the partner was attractive, regardless of their own level of attractiveness. This contradicts the matching hypothesis as the students should have then appreciated the partner that was of similar attractiveness to them

Why May it have been that the walster study didn’t confirm the matching hypothesis?
A
The measurement of attractiveness may not have been reliable as the judges only have a few seconds to rate the students
