PHOTOSYNTHESIS Flashcards
Chemical link between inorganic and organic worlds.
Photosynthesis
What are the different parts of the leaf?
Upper Epidermis, Mesophyll Palisade Layer, Mesophyll Layer, Vascular Bundles, Lower Epidermis, and Stomata
Prevents the evaporstion of water from inside and protects the tissues beneath.
Upper Epidermis
Food making and other leaf functions are carried on.
Mesophyll Palisade Layer
Food making and other lesf functions are carried on. Give off water to the air spaces.
Mesophyll Spongy Layer
Transport water and food materials and support the blade of the leaf.
Vascular Bundles
Regulate the passage of air and water vapor to and form the inside of the leaf.
Lower Epidermis
Regutating the giving off water vapor.Admitting carbon dioxide used in making sugar and setting free oxygen. Admiiting oxygen when needed for respiration and giving off carbon dioxide formed by respiration.
Stomata
A type of plastid (sacklike organelle with a double membrane).
Chloroplast
Absorbs light energy.
Chlorophyll
What are the different parts of the Chloroplasts?
Outer Membrane, Inner Membrane, Intermembrane Space, Storma, Thylakoids, and Grana
Helps define inner membrane spage, smooth membrane in mitochondria.
Outer Membrane
Site of the electron transport and chemiomosis
Inner Membrane
Nucleotide phosphorylation
Intermembrane Space
Synthesis of organic molecules from carbon dioxide and water.
Storma
