What do artboards operate like?
A group
What does Select -> Subject do?
Attempts to automatically select the subject in an image.
What does tolerance do?
It adjusts how far the selections spread before it stops.
With the magic wand tool, what does adjusting the tolerance do?
Select more or less range of color.
What is one way to refine a selection?
Select -> Select and Mask
How do you add a solid color layer?
Click on the new layer in the layer panel -> Solid color
How do you duplicate a layer?
Duplicate a layer by dragging to new layer icon.
What needs to be rasterized before you can destructively edit?
Text and smart objects
Define rasterize
Converts text, shapes, smart objects and groups into standard Photoshop pixel-based layers
Define Pixels
Tiny dots that make up a raster or bitmap image
Raster (aka bitmap) images
Made of grid or colored dots, like a mosaic
Vector images
Images made by mathematical formulas creating lines and curves (like graphic an equation in Geometry class)
What are 4 ways to rasterize a group, smart object or text?
1) Right click -> Merge group
2) Type -> Rasterize Type Layer
3) Right click Layer -> Rasterize Type
4) Right click Smart Object -> Rasterize Layer
How do you flip an object?
Go to Edit -> Transform -> Flip
What is the difference between horizontal flipping and vertical flipping?
Horizontal is like flipping a page.
Vertical is like flipping a page in a notepad.
