How do you open a new document?
- File -> New

What are the print presets in Photoshop?
Photo, Print, Art & Illustration
What are the screen presets in Photoshop?
Web, Mobile, Film & Video
What is web resolution?
Refers to the pixels on screens
What is print resolution?
Refers to dots of ink for every inch when the printer prints the image
What is a bleed?
A section of paper that gets discarded after printing so the image goes edge to edge
What are two ways you can show the rulers?
1) View -> Rulers
2) Ctrl + R
How can you change the ruler measurements?
Right click on the ruler to change the measurement
How do you show the grid on your canvas?
View -> Show -> Grid
What are guides?
Invisible lines on your project that allows you to line things up
What are two ways to add guides to your canvas?
1) Drag it from the ruler
2) View -> New Guide
How do you move guides around?
Move Tool
How do you lock guides?
View -> Lock Guides
Kerning
Space between specific letter pairs

Where is kerning generally used?
Headlines, titles and other large text.
What can you do to a title to give it more important, powerful feel?
Increase the leading
What is recommended before rasterizing a type layer?
Duplicating the layer and hide it before rasterizing in case the words need to be changed.
How do you invert a layer mask?
To invert mask go to Image -> Adjustments -> Invert (ctrl + i)
How do you rasterize a layer?
Right click -> Rasterize layer
What do you press on the keyboard to select multiple layers?
Control/Command or Shift

1) Double click to select a single word
2) Triple click to select a line

Don’t check scale to fit

Embed color profile
How do you view what your document will look like before offset printing?
View -> Proof colors
What is soft proofing?
Soft proofing attempts to to simulate the printed colors when you send to professional offset priting. It’s not ritical unless your color accuracy is important and you have wide-gamut monitors and printers.
How do you convert your image from RGB to CYMK?
Image -> Mode -> CMYK
