Phospholipid Flashcards
A lipid containing a phosphate group in its molecule.
Phospholipid
What are Head Phosphate?
It is water-loving, hydrophilic phosphate.
What are Tail Lipids?
It is water-fearing, hydrophobic lipids.
What are RBC glycolipids?
These are lipids with carbohydrate chains.
What are Rhesus factor (Rh factor)?
It determines positive or negative blood types.
What blood type is the universal donor?
O Rh D negative because it has no antigens in the RBC.
What blood type is the universal recipient?
AB Rh D positive because it has no antibodies in plasma.
It is the process that occurs if an antigen is mixed with its corresponding antibody called isoagglutinin. This term is commonly used in blood grouping.
Agglutination
Who discover the blood types?
