Phoneme
Basic unit of sound.

How airflow is blocked by parts of the mouth when producing the sounds of consonants.

A unit of sound with a vowel typically representing it.
Accent
A variation of how someone speaks from a region that is different from other regions when pronouncing words.
Accommodation
The way individuals alter their speech from other regions in their pronunciation.
Sound Iconicity
Conveying meaning through just sounds.

How letters are written for the vast majority of languages.
