Whats the difference between obstruents and sonorants
Obstruents (obstructing outward airflow)
- oral stops /p, b, t, d, k, g/
- fricatives /f, v, s, z, θ , ð, ʃ, ʒ /
- affricates /tʃ, dʒ /
Sonorants (without turbulent airflow)
- nasals /m, n, ŋ /
- glides/semi-vowels /j, w/
- liquids /l, ɹ/
- All vowels
