Physical
-a property we associate with physical quantities for purposes of classification or differentiation.
Emotional
typically defined as possessing the ability to feel and express human emotions such as happiness, sadness and anger. It means having the ability to love and be loved and achieving a sense of fulfillment in life.
Intellectual
is a category of property that includes intangible creations of the human intellect
Social
refers to our ability to interact successfully in our global community and to live up to the expectations and demands of our personal roles.
Spiritual
-involves possessing a set of guiding beliefs, principles, or values that help give direction to one’s life. It encompasses a high level of faith, hope and commitment to your individual beliefs that provide a sense of meaning and purpose.
Elements of Human Person
-The Body, The Spirit, The Soul
The Body
the three dimensional part of ourselves which is not permanent and subject to physical laws.
The Spirit
our individuality, our divine nature, that which is eternal and permanent.
The soul
the unseen part of ourselves, the seat of our feelings, it is also called the aura or the mind.
Consciousness
is the state or quality of awareness, or, of being aware of an external object or something within oneself.
EMBODIMENT
refers to the biological and physical presence of our bodies, which are a necessary precondition for subjectivity, emotion, language, thought and social interaction
Limitations of the Human Person as an Embodied Spirit
Facticity, spatial-temporal being, the body as intermediary
Facticity
-Refers to the things in our life that are already given
Spatial-temporal Being
as temporal beings, our most obvious limitation is our finitude –our finite quality or state.
