Increase in serum concentrations of Urea, Creatinine and potassium
Acidotic

What are the characteristics of the Diuretic phase of AKI

A

Increase in urine output
Urine is dilute
Patient may become dehydrated and hypotensive
GFR has begun to recover
Abnormal labs begin to plateau
Monitor labs regularly to ensure patient does not move to far in the opposite direction.

WHat are the characteristics of the recovery phase?

A

Improvement of kidney function and energy level of patient
Patient must avoid NSAIDS
Monitor that anemia is improving in patient
discuss renal diet with patient to aid recovery
Test for residual damage to the glomerular basement membrane
