What is the role around GPhC and education/training?
GPhC MUST set:
-Standards of proficiency for the safe and effective practice of pharmacy which it is necessary for a person to achieve in order to be entered in Part 1 or 2 of the Register
- Standards of education, training and experience that providers of education and training must meet
- Any requirements to be satisfied for admission to, and continued participation in, education and training
What can the GPhC approve/accredit?
- Courses
- Qualifications
- Institutions and providers (including tutors)

Is English a legal requirement for all registrants?
Yes, but can have exempt persons like EEA or Switzerland
Who does the Guidance on evidence of English language skills apply to?
Everyone! (UK, EEA, Swiss, Other countries)
If GPhC decides that if standards or requirements not met, it can:
a) Impose probationary or remedial arrangements or conditions; or
b) Refuse to approve (accredit), or withdraw approval
GPhC accredits/ recognises:
- Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degrees
- Overseas Pharmacists’ Assessment Programmes (OSPAPs)
- Prescribing programmes leading to pharmacist annotation
- Competency- and knowledge-based qualifications leading to pharmacy technician registration
- Pharmacy, dispensing and medicines counter assistants courses
