1
Q
Drugs that act on microtubules
A
Microtubules Get Constructed Very Poorly
Mebendazole (anti-helminthic) Griseofulvin (anti-fungal) Colchicine (anti-gout) Vincristine/Vinblastine (anti-cancer) Paclitaxel (anti-cancer)
2
Q
What is the mechanism of Ouabain?
A
Inhibits Na+/K+ ATPase by binding to K+ site
3
Q
What is the mechanism of cardiac glycosides (digoxin and digitoxin)
A
Inhibit the Na+/K+ ATPase –> indirect inhibition of Na+/Ca2+ exchange –> increase in intracellular calcium –> increase cardiac contractility
