Pharmacology Flashcards
What is the MOA of salbutamol and salmeterol?
Selective B2 adrenoreceptor agonist = cAMP mediated bronchial SM relaxation
What are the ADR’s of salbutamol and salmeterol?
Angioedema, cardiac arrhythmias, hand tremors, urticaria, hypokalaemia
What are the CI’s of salbutamol and salmeterol?
CVD, arrhythmic, hypokalaemic
What is the MOA of fluticasone?
Steriod complex with glucocorticoid receptor = transcriptional regulator to strongly reduce inflam.
What are the ADR’s of fluticasone?
LT immune suppression, cushings, osteoporosis
What are the CI’s of fluticasone?
Immune compromised, diabetic
What is the MOA of Ipratropium + Tiotropium?
M3 ACh receptor antagonists = reduced cGMP = SM relaxation
What are the ADR’s of Ipratropium + Tiotropium?
Constipation, cough, diarrhoea, dry mouth, GI disturbances, headaches
What are the CI’s of Ipratropium + Tiotropium?
Arrhythmias, cardiac failure or MI past 6 months
