Volume of distribution of a drug
A
In the tissues is the volume of water in which drug has to be diluted to give the measured plasma concentration. For a drug confined to plasma,Vd is equal to blood volume. For a drug distributed equally throughout the body, it equals total body water volume.
Hence low if highly protein bound. It is proportional to half-life.
