Enteral- meds pass through digestive system. Eg oralgastric, sublingual, Buccal
Parenteral- meds avoid digestive system. Eg. Intravenous, inhalation, intramuscular

ASA. Give indications, contraindications, dose, action.
Indications: chest discomfort indicative of heart attack- crushing chest pain, numb in left arm, neck or jaw pain, possible increase in HR
Contraindications: Know allergy to it, stroke in last two weeks, large bleed in last 2 weeks
Dose: 2 low dose (baby aspirin) (81) or 1 regular (325). Chew
Action: reduces clotting factors- antiplatelet
Epinephrine. Give indications, contraindications, dose, action, reassess.
Indication: allergic reaction
Contraindication: none
Dosage: auto injector
Lasts 15-20 minutes for person in allergenic shock
Reassess: give second dose ~10 minutes after if needed
Metered dose inhaler MDI. Give indications, contraindications, dose, action.
Indications: asthma, difficulty breathing, wheezing
Contra: none
Side effects: tachycardia, tremors, shakiness
Nitroglycerin. Give indications, contraindications, dose, action.
Indications: chest pain, prescribed
Contraindications:
systolic below 100mmHg
Pulse below 50 bpm
Ed meds in last 72 hours
Suspected head injury
3 doses already taken
Dose: one tablet or one spray sublingual (under tongue)
Action: vasodilator reducing bp
Cardiac protocol for angina?
00:00- Nitro
02:00- ASA
05:00- Nitro
10:00- Nitro
Nitro every 5 min if needed, check bp and vitals between doses (100 systolic and 50bpm minimums)
Oral glucose?
Indication: low glucose, suspected hypoglycaemia
Action: increases blood glucose
