Indicator is a substance which changes colour according to the acidity of alkalinity of the aqueous solutions it comes into contact with.

What are Litmus papers
A
Acidic solution will turn the blue litmus paper red.
Alkaline solution will turn the red litmus paper blue
Neutral solution

How to use the Universal Indicator Solution.
A
Place 1 to 2 drops of Universal Indicator solution into the unknown solution. Compare the colour change to a colour chart to determine the exact pH.
