end of bed inspection, laid on bed palpate for heat palpate knees for pain heel to bottom, active, both legs heel to bottom, passive, both legs internal and external rotation of hips stand up, look for deformities from back and side

standing, examine from back and sides
bend over, tough toes, straight legs
