catarrhal stage- cold symptoms, runny nose
paroxysmal stage- uncontrollable coughing w/ “whoop” sound, can result in broken blood vessels in the eyes, vomiting, or hemorrhage in brain
Convalescent stage- ciliated epithelia is damaged, long recovery
