Presenting an argument from the other side but then immediately rebuts it
Procatalepsis (counter-argument)
Highest degree of comparison (extreme hyperbole). E.g. Mount Everest is the highest, most impenetrable mountain in the world.
Superlatives
Utilising fear to motivate readers to support the writer’s point of view
Worst case scenario
Involves the reader directly in the issue by using words such as ‘we’ or ‘us’ . Makes the reader feel included and values and encourages the reader to agree with the point if view bring presented.
Inclusive language
Deliberate repetition of a word or phrase at beginning of successive verses, clauses or paragraphs.
E.g. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall…

The use of humour or irony to ridicule or criticize people’s stupid opinions
