Personal life perspective Flashcards
View on the family
We choose the families we want and need, but these are based on past experiences rather then an open choice
Giddens and Beck
We have been disembedded from traditional roles in society, which means we are able to choose the family that meets our needs and wants.
This has been due to:
- cotraception
- female independance
Stacy

EVAL - choice

EVAL - May
Beck and Giddens view of the individual is simply an idealised version of a white middle class man
