What Is Your Biggest Weakness?

A

My biggest weakness may be that I find it hard to immediatley ask for help with any issues I’m having. For example, in school when I find it harder to grasp a concept or when I start a new job seeking help and don’t know the procedure or right way to do things.

I instead take a longer time to try and find solutions on my own before asking for help because I’m trying to show I’m resourceful. However, I realise how this can mean work processes happen less effectively and in a less timely manner. I know in healthcare I would work in multidisciplinary teams and it’s important we share support to provide high quality care.

With practice and time I know I can improve on this by remembering that asking for help is not a problem but a way of showing I understand my competency and a way of showing I’m eager to improve.

How Do You Deal With Stress?

A

My first step to dealing with stress is remembering that a certain level of stress is common and sometimes means you’re working at your most efficient level. Reminding myself of this helps me to not start to panic and instead calmly try and find and find an outlet. When finding my outlet I make sure it has nothing to do with and cannot remind me of the cause of my stress. For example, if my cause of stress is school my outlet would be a hobby at home such as crocheting or baking instead of activities such as clubs at school.

Do You Know When To Seek Help?

A

when stress? don’t know how to proceed? something new, new procedure , whenyoiu feel like you’re not competent, when you feel like your mental health is detonating , when it will be more efficient for the patient

Why Do You Deserve A Place At This Medical School Over The Other Candidates?

A

Think about what Medical School requires of students and how you live up to those qualities: ability to self-study, ability to work in teams, ability to communicate effectively, willingness to support your peers, willingness to contribute to university life.
Think about what being a Doctor requires of students and how you live up to those qualities: academic ability, desire to continually develop knowledge, ability to practically apply knowledge, ability to think creatively and rationally, ability to recognise your shortcomings and learn from mistakes.
Then structure your answer with these points in mind. For instance, you might say: “There are several reasons why I believe I would be a valuable addition to the Medical School here. First of all, I have demonstrated… Second, I believe I have…”
