what are the boundaries of the abdominal cavity?

A

Cranial: diaphragm

Caudal: pelvic inlet

Dorsal: the lumbar vertebrae and transverse process, sublumbar muscles, crura of the diaphragm

Lateral: intrathoracic (ribs, costal arch, intercostal mm.) and extrathoracic (muscles of the abdominal wall)

ventral: rectus abdominis
