what are the boundaries of the abdominal cavity?
Cranial: diaphragm
Caudal: pelvic inlet
Dorsal: the lumbar vertebrae and transverse process, sublumbar muscles, crura of the diaphragm
Lateral: intrathoracic (ribs, costal arch, intercostal mm.) and extrathoracic (muscles of the abdominal wall)
ventral: rectus abdominis
what is the pathway of the lateral ligament of the urinary bladder?
remnants of the umbilical arteries–> round ligament of the bladder
what is the pathway of the falciform ligament?
remnants of umbilical veins–> round ligament of the liver
connects liver to ventral body wall
what pathway of the median ligament of the urinary bladder?
supports urachus in fetus; urachus drains urinary bladder of fetus and runs within umbilical cord
