A
Creates a reflection that covers abdominal contents called greater omentum

Role of peritoneum?
A
Anchors floppy abdominal organs to posterior body wall = no squashing or moving when jumping + carries blood supply to organs

What is the mesentery?
A
A major reflection of peritoneum from posterior abdominal wall surrounding majority of small intestines - anchors small intestine to posterior abdominal wall
