Q

Why do you do perio treatment before restorative treatment?

A

Stable gingival margins before tooth prep
No/less bleeding
Adequate tooth structure available
Resolution of inflammation may change too position, relations, and soft tissue position
Resolution of inflammation eliminates risk of CAL
Ideal perio conditions help maintain health
Ideal perio conditions allow maximal benefits from restorative therapy (esthetics)
