Name 4 types of feedback
Intrinsic, extrinsic, positive, negative, knowledge of results, knowledge of feedback.
A type of manual guidance in gymnastics
When a coach supports your back in a backflip.
An example of visual guidance in football
When a coach demonstrates where to kick the ball in a freekick position by using his foot in slow motion.
An example of mechanical guidance in trampolining
A harness with rope holding the athlete up to ensure that they have enough time to perform the trick in the air and to make sure they don’t get injured in the process.
An example of verbal guidance in hockey
When the coach tells the player how to perform a skill by explaining it step by step while the athlete is performing it in slow motion.
Describe knowledge of performance
It’s when a coach or another player teaches the athlete how and where to move on the pitch for example for different formations, to improve their performance and confidence on the pitch or court.
Analyse the effectiveness of knowledge of results for a beginner
Knowledge of results could be helpful for a beginner because if they win or score a goal, their confidence from seeing that they caused their team to win or score a point would give them a more positive mindset towards their skill and also the game. This could also give them more motivation. However, it could be negative because if they keep losing or having goals scored against them, this could be very defeating for a new player and reduce their motivation which inturn could cause them to quite.
