Justify why co-ordination would be useful for a basketballer (3 marks)
Basketballs can travel fast so the athlete needs to be able to move their different body parts into the right position to be able to catch the ball successfully.
Also needs hand eye co-ordination to be able to shoot accurately towards the hoop by moving all the muscles in the correctly to apply enough power and accuracy to ensure that the ball will go through the hoop.
Co-ordination is helpful in defending to be able to see where the attacker is going to throw the ball, to cut off the pass/shot, meaning that they gain possession of the ball, starting a counter-attack.
