Perf Manual Flashcards
Section 2 : T/O
Fire and Rescue Categories for the variants
aka RFF….
Dept & Dest, All Alts except Etops, ETOPS
RFF Cats
788 - 8
789 - 9
78X - 9
DEPT/DEST - 1 below or 2 if tempo
T/O Alt, Dest Alt, ERA - 2 below or 3 if tempo (72 hrs max by NOTAM)
ETOPS enroute alts - 4 at 30 mins notice
Section 2 : T/O
ICAO design code…
All are Code E (Wingspan < 65m)
Section 2 : T/O Perf
Emergency Turn Procedures (ETP)
EGPWS Warning - how to fly
EGPWS CAUTION/WARNING can be expected after failure @ V1
Follow lateral ETP maintain SPD above V2
(Climb perf is based on this min speed)
Section 2 : T/O
Temp Inversions
How do we identify them?
Forecast..
or CALM, CLEAR conditions at night, temp above ISA +15℃
Add 3℃ to reported temp prior to calc TOPL & Thrust reduction
Section 3 : LANDING
Non normal - how to calc OPT figs
to ensure you can stop & make go around gradient
To ensure G/A climb gradient is achievable
- 2 engine Perf - NON FAILURE
- Flap 20 Engine out
- MEL / OVERWEIGHT
Calculates most limiting & distance increments
Section 3 : LANDING
SOP - Minimum Reverse Idle
Except… 3 items
- RWY - covered by standing water, snow, slush or ice.
- Target Threshold Spd has been increased due to a deficiency.
- Any unservicability of SPD BRKs, Brakes or Anti Skid
Section 3 : LANDING
Brake Cooling, how long should you wait?
Wait 10 mins before check brake temps
Do not dispatch with BRAKE TEMP message
Section 4 : T/O from CONTAMINATED Rwys
Where is the Flow Chart?
Perf 4.3
Section 4 : T/O from CONTAMINATED Rwys
When is a runway contaminated?
When a significant portion, within the required length and width is covered by..
> 3mm water/wet snow/dry snow/slush, compacted snow or ice
for <3mm use WET data
Section 4 : T/O from CONTAMINATED Rwys
What Limitations need to be observed 7 items…
- Snow + temp ABOVE -5℃ = SLUSH
- Refer to FCTM 3.14 for XWind guidelines
(OPT will warn if Xwind is exceeded) - FULL THRUST T/O
- Eng A/I on
- Use FULL LENGTH
- Min Runway & Cleared width 45m (150M)
- If not fully cleared consider it contamtd with whatever hasn’t been cleared
- TW > 5kts not recommended
Section 4 : T/O from DEGRADED Rwys
Considerations, 4 items …
- FCTM for XWind guidelines
- FULL THRUST T/O
- No cleared width limits
- TW > 5kts not recommended
Section 4 : Landing on CONTAMINATED or DEGRADED Rwys
Opt factor, min width, cleared width, what if it’s not fully cleared?
- Remember OPT includes a factor of 1.15%
- Min Width for Landing 45m
- Min CLEARED width 40m
- Consider it contaminated if not fully cleared.
Section 5 : Driftdown and Depress
What if you can’t maintain MSA in event of IFSD?
Fuel Jettison
- Start dumping ASAP - brief before terrain
Section 5 : Driftdown and Depress
How do we prepare for the Escape route…
Escape Route
- Prebrief and …
- MUST be loaded into route 2
Section 5 : Driftdown and Depress
MSA Bandwidths are …
…might you go below FPlan MSA?
- Normal flight plan 10nm either side of trk
- RNP5 A/C MSA for Driftdown and depress can be reduced to 5nm
- A/C may descend below flight plan MSA as this is the highest between 2 waypoints
- Actual terrain clearance is calculated under the procedure (see procedures for actual MSA)
