A

The psychological process where we attempt to understand information presented to us in the world, in order that we can act accordingly.

What is the process for visual perception?

A

Light —> Cornea —> Pupil —> Through lens —> Retina —> Rods and cones —> Optic nerve —> Brain

A

What are the 5 laws of Pragnanz?

A
  1. Proximity - elements close together appear to form part of the same figure.
  2. Similarity - similar colours, shapes etc. tend to be grouped together.
  3. Closure - incomplete lines tend into be filled in to product ‘good’ figures like squares or circles.
  4. Continuation - figures tend to stand out against a black background when they are defined by an uninterrupted contour.
  5. Common fate - e.g. flock of birds flying in one direction.
