Ecosystem
a grouping of plants and animals that interact with each other and their local environment
Biome
a large ecosystem; a grouping of plants and animals over large area of earth
Biotic
the living components of an ecosystem e.g flora fauna
Abiotic
the non-living components of an ecosystem - soils, rocks, water, pH, atmosphere
Biodiversity
the variety of biotic components in an ecosystem
Malthus Theory
Population was increasing faster than supply of resources, so eventually there would be too many people for that resources available. Food supply will run out and famine would result, reducing population size.
Boserup’s Theory
However big the world’s population grew, people would always produce sufficient resources to meet their needs through new techniques to increase food production.
