Puborectalis
Levator Ani PA: Pubis DA: Wall of rectum A: Maintain fecal continence Innervation: Levator Ani N. (S4)
Bulbospongiosus
A: Males - Empties urethra, maintains erection, & contracts during ejaculation
Females - constricts vaginal orifice & contributes to erection of clitoris
Innervation: perineal branch of the Pudendal N.
Ischiocavernosus
A: Compresses crus during erection
Innervation: Perineal branch of Pudendal N.
External Anal Sphincter
A: Closes anal canal & fixes perineal body
Innervation: Inferior rectal branch of the Pudendal N.
External Urethral Sphincter
Attachments: surrounds urethra
A: Compresses urethra
Innervation: Perineal branch of Pudendal N.
Superficial Transverse Perineal
PA: Inferior ramus of ischium & ischial tuberosity
DA: Inferior aspect of posterior border of perineal membrane to perineal body
A: Support perineal body, support pelvic visceral resist increased intra-abdominal pressure
Innervation: Perineal branch of Pudendal N.
Deep Transverse Perineal
PA: Inferior ramus of ischium and ischial tuberosity
DA: Superior aspect of posterior border of perineal membrane to perineal body and external anal sphincter
A: support perineal body, support pelvic viscera, resist increased intra-abdominal pressure
Innervation: Perineal branch of Pudendal N.
