A
  • gives validity to> allows research to be checked over so there’s no errors so maintains high standards
  • could be difficult to find an expert in a similar field
  • contradicting research could be buried
  • reviewer could be biased > people may want to have revenge on researchers they have grudges with so valid research won’t be published
