-if the article is accepted by the journal, the editor send a copy to a peer for checking
-The peers kept anonymous, and so is the psychologist
-peers check for many aspects, including the methodology, aims and data
-The paper is an either accepted, returned for a revision or rejected
-if the paper is accepted and published, then it is listed in a database for other research as to find
