- Sitting
- Preferably knees higher than hips
- Hovering over the toilet
- 60% of American’s say they won’t sit on a public seat
- For reference only 60% of people wash their hands after using a public restroom

- DON’T DO IT IF YOU DON’T WANT TO PEE EVERYTIME YOU LAUGH!

Bearing down
- Bearing down causes increased pressure on the pelvic floor

Holding urine too long
- Can cause irritation of the bladder leading to involuntary bladder contraction
- (holding to the point bladder is over full)

Fluid Intake
- If I don’t drink much I can get by without going to the bathroom for a longer period of time
- If you don’t drink enough, urine becomes concentrated
- Concentrated urine is very irritating to the lining of the bladder limiting its ability to hold urine

How should you poo?

- Increases risk of impaction

- If you don’t drink enough constipation occurs

- High fiber diets assist in pulling fluid into the feces allowing easier deficaiton
