Autosomal Recessive Trait
non sex linked trait that is given to offspring when parents are heterozygous for recessive trait (1/4)
More in incestuous marriages
Autosomal Dominant Trait
non sex linked trait that is given to the offspring when parents are affected unless possessing a new mutation (1/2) Unaffected parents do not transmit the trait.
X-linked Recessive Traits
Appear more often in males than in females and are not passed from father to son. All daughters of affected fathers are carriers.
X-linked Dominant Traits
Affect both males and females. An affected male must have an affected mother. Often times affect females more than males.
Y-linked Traits
Appear only in males and are passed from a father to all his sons. Only males are affected.
