What type of vaccine: Diphtheria / Tetanus/ Pertussis
Diphtheria/Tetanus = inactivated toxin
Pertussis = inactivated acellular vaccine
Booster timing for diphtheria vaccination
every 10 years
Booster timing for tetanus
- every 10 years if no injury
- every 5 years if at risk
- severe injury = 1 year after last dose
Booster timing for pertussis
1+ booster dose following DTaP series
DTaP vaccine schedule
5 dose series:
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 15-18 months
- 4-6 years
Tdap vaccine schedule
1 dose at 11-12 years
1 dose recommended with every pregnancy

Redness, swelling, pain at injection site
fever

severe allergic reaction
Hx of encephalopathy within 7 days of pertussis vaccination

Conjugate vaccine
Vaccination schedule for ActHib, Hiberix, Pentacel, or Vaxelis
4 dose series
- 3 primary doses at 2, 4, &6 months
- 1 booster at 12-15 months
(Vaxelis should not be used as a booster)

3 dose series
- 2 primary doses at 2 & 4 months
- 1 booster at 12-15 months
