A
- divide by 2.2
- 35 lbs /2.2=15.91 kg

Calculate dose of meds for 2 yo weighing 22 lbs needing amoxicillin. Recommended tx dose is 80-90 mg/kg/day. BID for 10 days.

- 22 lbs /2.2= 10 kg
- 10 kg X 90 mg/kg/day= 900 mg/day
- Divide into 2 daily doses: 900 mg/day / 2= 450 mg BID
- most abx come in 200mg/5mL or 400 mg/5mL
