Pear Deck (Problem/Impact & PVPs) Flashcards
Whole Student Learning
Problem: time consuming for teachers to embed wellness check-ins into their daily lessons
Impact: less attention spent on the emotional development and needs of their students
We help schools create inclusive and supportive environments that foster high levels of engagement and ensure students are supported academically, emotionally and mentally.
Active Learning
Problem: creating active learning moments throughout lessons that encourage all students to participate
Impact: some students can become disengaged throughout a lesson
We make it easier for teachers to embed higher order thinking exercises throughout their lessons in order to foster opportunities where students can create, evaluate, and think critically.
Reflective Practices
Problem: lack of opportunities for students to reflect on their own learning
Impact: have an effect on student’s confidence, self-regulation skills, and their ability to achieve goals
We make it easier for students to engage in metacognitive practices that encourage them to reflect on their own learning and be comfortable expressing their own thoughts and ideas.
Blended Learning
Problem: Blended learning environments make it difficult for teachers to measure levels of participation and support all learners in real time
Impact: Some students are less focused and engaged in these environments
We make it easier for teachers to quickly measure levels of participation in order to adapt instruction in the moment and ensure all students are actively engaged.
Culturally Responsive Classroom
Problem: challenging for teachers to create an inclusive space that honors the perspectives of all students
Impact: some students can inadvertently feel left out and disengaged from the class activities
We help teachers create learning moments that give each student a voice, and that open doors for class discussions that lead to new perspectives, ideas, and heightened empathy.
Accessibility
Problem: some students may need learning supports to participate and demonstrate their learning
Impact:possible technology inequities and groups of students disengaged
We empower English Language Learners and those with special needs to be active participants in their own learning through the use of multisensory and multilingual learning supports.
Ease of Use
Problem: difficult to use digital tools, so many tools used across the district gets confusing
Impact: tech fatigue, low adoption rates
We lessen the stress on teachers when it comes to utilizing technology with robust training options and solutions designed using learning science principles that ensure they are easy to use, support best practices, and are backed by results.
