What are the Christian attitudes towards bullying?
- Violence without a just cause is sinful
- Bullying is mistreating God’s creation so it is wrong
- Parable of Good Samaritan teaches that we should protect the weak and bullying does the opposite of this
- Parable of sheep and goats tells us we should treat everyone as if they were Jesus so we wouldn’t bully Jesus therefore we shouldn’t bully others
What are the Muslim attitudes towards bullying?
- Muslims believe we are all brothers and sisters
- Violence without cause is sinful
- Islam believes we all have a duty to protect the weak
- Muslims believe we all should have human rights and bullying takes them away
What are the Christian attitudes towards forgiveness?
- In Matthews gospel Jesus said we should forgive 77 times
- In Marks gospel Jesus said forgive so that your father in heaven may forgive you
- CCC states we need it for us to repair our relationships with God and eachother
- St Paul said we should try to live in peace with everyone
What must happen for proper reconciliation?
- Contrition; realise you’ve done wrong
- Confession; say you’re sorry
- Absolution; being forgiven
- Satusfaction; do something to make up for it
What are the Muslim attitudes towards forgiveness?
- Teaching of Qur’an says if we want Allah to forgive us we must be prepared to forgive others, “He that forgives…shall be rewarded by God”
- Example of Muhammad, forgave prisoners from enemy city and by doing so turned them into friends
- Day of Judgment; believe God will judge us when we die, we must be in good terms with others at all times
What are the religious conflicts in families?
- Children changing religion
- Not taking part in religions
- Marrying outside of religion
- Disagreements over moral issues like abortion or homosexuality
What is the work of United Nations?
- Try to resolve conflicts that have broken out and prevent them
- Fight against poverty and for human rights
- Peace talks
- Sending peacekeepers
What is the work of Pax Christi?
- Inform Catholics of teachings of Jesus
- Campaign against abuse of human rights
- Criticise government on spending money on weapons
- Organising public awareness of moral issues

What are the Christian attitudes towards war?
-Pacifists; Jesus said ‘love your enemies’ , ‘thou shall not kill’ , modern weapons kill innocent people so we shouldn’t use them, Christian churches refused to fight in wars for the first 300 years
BUT; acceptable to fight in just war, all leaders of main churches say it acceptable to fight in Just wars, St. paul said we much obey the government, Jesus was kind to soldiers, Jesus said ‘give Ceaser what is Caesar’s’
What are the Muslim attitudes towards war?
- Must fight if Islam attacked
- Muhammad fought in wars
- Muhammad stated that Muslims have a duty to fight against injustice
- Qur’an says Muslims fight if Islam attacked
- Qur’an says you got to Heaven if killed in Just War
What is the Just war theory?
- Cause must be serious enough to warrant the killing that will occur
- Must be declared be legitimate government
- Must be intention of peace at the end
- It must not target innocent people
- Must be the least resort if other solutions fail
