What are Macronutrients?
They are nutrients needed for energy, growth and repair and are needed in large quantities. e.g carbohydrates, fats or proteins.
What are Micronutrients?
They are vitamins and minerals needed in small quantities.
What is a sedentary lifestyle?
A lifestyle with very little or even no physical activity.
What factors contribute to a sedentary lifestyle?
Health issues, mental health issues or jobs
Explain how antagonistic pairs of muscles work together to create movement?
As the agonist contracts the antagonist relaxes to allow the agonist to pull on the bone to create movement.
What are all 4 functions of the skeletal system?
Protection of vital organs, to aid movement, for storing calcium and phosphorus and the production of red blood cells.
What are all the properties of type I muscle fibre?
Small, red, high fatigue resistance, slow twitch, long distance e.g marathon.
