Q

RNP VALUES

A

RNP or RNAV specifications are established according to the lateral navigation accuracy required

RNP X has an accuracy > X nm 95% of the time

Airbus computes EPE
If EPE > RNP = accuracy low
If EPE < RNP = accuracy high

RAIM

A

Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring :

Provides integrity and warning

  • at least 6 satellites for fault detection and exclusion
  • at least 5 satellites for fault detection
  • Less than 5 satellites is not supported

Q

Navigation performance

A

LAT : A corridor of 2x RNP value provides lateral obstacle clearance either side of trajectory

Operational limit is 1x RNP value
-> call LAT-DEV when deviation exceeds 1/2 dot

VERT : call V-DEV when deviation exceeds 1/2 dot (50ft)
