Payment Interactions
Each time an action is performed for an order payment, such as the payment gateway authorizing a credit card or a merchant receiving a check, Kibo eCommerce stores it as a payment interaction. Payment interactions let the merchant track the payment history and status if the order is canceled, a payment is voided, or items are returned.
Payment Workflows
Your order payment processing workflow might differ depending on the payment types you accept and when you choose to perform the payment authorization and capture steps. For each site you manage, you can define any of the following workflows:
When the shopper submits an order, authorize and capture the payment.
When the shopper submits an order, authorize the payment. When fulfilling the order, capture the payment.
If your site performs payment authorization and capture separately, Kibo eCommerce authorizes the payment before validating the order. If your site performs payment authorization and capture simultaneously, Kibo eCommerce validates the order before authorizing and capturing the payment.
Void a Payment
If you want to cancel a payment that you have not yet captured, void the payment. Typically, you void payments when shoppers cancel all or part of their order within 24 hours of placing the order. If you need to cancel a payment after payment has been captured, apply a credit or issue a refund instead.
Order Fulfillment
Kibo eCommerce enables tenants to control how a shopper fulfills items in an order, either through direct shipment or in-store pickup. During checkout, the shopper determines the fulfillment method to use for each item in the order, depending on the fulfillment types supported for the site.
Ship to Multiple Addresses
Shipping to multiple addresses allows shoppers to send items within an order to different destinations, or to use a combination of fulfillment methods for the items, such as direct ship, in-store pickup, or gift card (digital) delivery. For example, assume a shopper creates an order with the following items:
Vacuum cleaner Mop Decorative mirror Bedding set If your site has multiple shipments enabled, the shopper could choose to pick up the vacuum cleaner and mop at a local store, ship the decorative mirror to their home address, and ship the bedding set to their child's address as a gift.
Enable Multiple Shipments
Enabling multiple shipments requires a combination of theme work and configuration in Admin.
After you enable multiple shipments, you cannot easily disable it. Enabling multiple shipments requires changes to your theme that are not backwards-compatible with your storefront if you later decide to disable multiple shipments. You would have to revert all the changes to your theme before being able to disable the feature.
