Patterns in speech errors Flashcards

1
Q

Patterns:

A
  1. Intended sounds are more likely to be replaced by similar sounds
  2. Sounds embedded in similar phonological environments are more likely to be exchanged
  3. When they result in non-words, very likely to look like “possible words”
  4. More likely to replace rare sounds with common ones
  5. Sound exchanges, normally involve sounds that appear in the same position within a syllable
