Pattern Flashcards
Traffic Pattern Priority Order
- Emergency aircraft
- Low Closed Patterns
- Minimum Fuel Aircraft
- Formations
- Single-ship radar entries
- Aircraft established in the pattern
- Re-entry from breakout or abandon approach
- VFR entries
Do not break from initial under the following conditions:
- Aircraft straight in between 5 and 2 miles
- Aircraft between “Report high key” and low key
- Aircraft orbiting at high key
- When directed to carry straight through
- When unable to maintain spacing with aircraft already established in high, closed, or low-closed downwind
Do not request/pull up for a closed traffic pattern:
- With an aircraft betweem “Report High Key” and Low Key
- With an aircraft orbiting at High Key
- With a straight-in between 5 and 2 miles
- With and aircraft on initial that has not began the break
- When the previous traffic on closed downwind is a conflict and/or the requesting traffic is not abeam/past the RSU
