Putting the brain and the motor skills together

- with geriatrics we need to slow down
- with young children we need to teach in a way that they can learn
Readiness to learn
- their acceptance of the situation and their illness
- readiness to learn is closely associated to depression and grieving
Motivation
How willing is the patient to put effort into learning
Environment
Limit destructions and make it an appropriate temperature environment
Timing
Make timing relevant and appropriate
Need to know vs nice to know
What is most important to that patient
Simple to complex
Creates a building block approach
Prioritize
Tach them according to maslows hierarchy of needs
