What is cardiomyopathy?
any disease of the cardiac muscle which can result in changes in size of the heart chambers and thickness of the heart
What are the types of cardiomyopathy?
dilated, hypertrophic and restrictive
What is arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia?
inherited cardiomyopathy that affects the right side of the heart, fibro-fatty replacement of the tight ventricular myocardium
What are the clinical features of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia?
- ventricular arrythmias
- cardiac failure
- sudden cardiac death
What is diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia?
difficult history echo MRI ECG
What is seen 0-24 hours in autopsy post-mi?
early coagulative necrosis, neutrophils, wavy fibres, hypercontraction of myofibrils
What is seen 3-14 days post-mi in autopsy?
macrophages and granulation tissue at margins
