Cholelithiasis
Abnormal condition of gallstones.
Gallstones are hardened deposits of digestive fluid that can form in your gallbladder.
Cirrhosis
Chronic disease of the liver with degeneration of liver cells.
Scarring (fibrosis) of the liver caused by long-term liver damage. Scar tissue prevents the liver working properly.
Colonic Polyposis
Condition in which polyps protrude from the mucous membrane lining the colon.
Diverticulosis
Abnormal condition of small pouches or sacs (diverticula) in the wall of the intestine (often the colon) Diverticulitis is inflammation and infection within diverticula.
Occurs when small, bulging pouches develop in your digestive tract.
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
A condition in which contents of the stomach flow back into the esophagus.
Gastric fluid flows backward into the esophagus, resulting in heartburn.
Hepatitis
Inflammation of the liver.
Liver inflammation can be caused by several viruses, chemicals, drugs, alcohol, certain genetic disorders or by an overactive immune system that mistakenly attacks the liver, called autoimmune hepatitis.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
Inflammation of the terminal (last) portion of the ileum (Crohn disease) or inflammation of the colon (ulcerative colitis).
Result of a weakened immune system.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Signs and symptoms are cramping, abdominal bloating, constipation, and diarrhea.
IBS causing distressing symptoms, it does not permanently harm the intestine. Its cause is unknown.
Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
Cancer of the liver.
Jaundice
Yellow-orange coloration of the skin and other tissues from high levels of bilirubin in the bloodstream (hyperbilirubinemia).
Bilirubin is a yellowish pigment that is made during the breakdown of red blood cells.
Peptic Ulcer
Open sore lesion that develops in the lining of the stomach (gastric ulcer) or the first part of the small intestine (duodenal ulcer).
