patholog Flashcards
AC Joint Sprain/
Separation: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Fall on distal end of the shoulder
Presentation: Immediate onset of pain superior aspect of shoulder when moving arm overhead or across the body
RCT: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Traumatic or degenerative
Presentation: Pain at night, with resisted activities, difficulty
lifting, throwing, or pushing, ROM limitations
Labral Tear: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Falling on outstretched hand repetitive throwing, direct blow to shoulder
Presentation: Deep shoulder pain in superior shoulder, pain with overhead activity, clicking/popping
Impingement: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Inflammation in acromial space, RTC tendon degeneration, osteophytes under AC, hooked acromion, GH hyper-mobility
Presentation: Pain at night and with ADLs, restricted movement
SICK Scapula: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Insidious
Presentation: Prominent inferior medial border, protraction, tender coracoid, tight pec minor
Adhesive
Capsulitis: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Insidious, trauma or after surgery
Presentation: Effects sleep, lateral upper arm pain at rest, hypomobility, decreased AROM & PROM in capsular pattern
Biceps Tendonitis: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Assoc. w/ impingement, repetitive overhead motion Presentation: Achy anterior shoulder pain, pain w/ lifting or
elevated pushing/pulling, pop/snap
Lateral Epicondylalgia: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Repetitive aggravation of extensor tendons, repetitive eccentric motion of extensors
Presentation: Pain over lateral epicondyle that worsens with Exercise and gets better with rest
Medial Epicondylitis: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Overuse
Presentation: Aching pain over medial epicondyle, ulnar nerve symptoms possible
Anterior Interosseous
Syndrome: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Flexor carpi radials traps branch of median nerve Presentation: Weak finger flexion, opposition and thumb flexion (OK Sign), NO SENSORY LOSS
Pronator Syndrome: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Compression of the median nerve where it passes through the two heads of pronator trers
Presentation: Pronator teres remains normal, other muscles
supplied by median nerve are affected, weakness as pronation is loaded
Cubital Tunnel
Syndrome: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Ulnar nerve injured or compressed between two heads of flexor carpi ulnaris
Presentation: Parasthesia down arm and into hand
Wartenberg’s
Syndrome: MOI & Presentation
MOI: Radial sensory nerve entrapment between
brachioradialis and ECRL
Presentation: Shooting, burning pain along posterior forearm, wrist and thumb
