How did the germ theory disprove spontaneous generation
it claimed that microorganisms caused by decay and were not created by rotting matter, this theory claimed the microorganisms spread though the air
how did pasteur investigate his idea
he showed that if he left a mixture in a container that was open to the air, the mixture would go bad; and he could see the microorganisms under the microscope. he repeated this with different samples of air . publishing his theory in 1861
